HELP FOR HAITI CHALLENGE!

As most of you know by now, a huge earthquake hit Haiti on Tuesday, January 12th… killing close to 50,000 people. We each need to take some time to pray, reflect on how lucky we truly are and take a few minutes and a few dollars to make a difference in this world! If you want to help - make sure you donate to a reputable organization!
.
The American Red Cross is accepting donations. Just think if we all gave $5 or $10, mutiply that millions of people and we can show the world that America is truly a wonderful country! If you follow my blog, then you know how I believe in it all adds up!
.
SO HERE'S MY CHALLENGE:
For each of my readers that does something to HELP HAITI, leave a comment on this post on what you specifically did to HELP HAITI and my family will donate $.50 for each comment listed (up to $250.00) before January 21st! I am hoping a lot of you leave comments telling me what you did to help!
.
Here are some ways you can help!
1.) Donate Online to the Red Cross HERE
.
2. ) Call the American Red Cross at 1-800-REDCROSS or 1-800-257-7575 (Spanish) - this is the Red Cross International Response Fund.
.
3.) Donate using your cell phone. You can donate $10 to Haiti relief by texting “Haiti” to 90999. $10 will be added on to your phone bill for the month.
.
All of the above information was received from the American Red Cross.
.
I know Haiti may seem far away, but if this tragedy happened in your area, you would want someone to help you, right? It's time to ban together and make a difference in this world!

We're donating money that we saved on groceries this month to Compassion International. Every little bit helps!

We donated to the US fund for UNICEF and also to a local (Kentucky)-based charity called Ten Kids whose goal is to provide a safe home, education, etc. to Ten Kids http://www.tenkids.org/. I like the idea of giving to an organization meeting general needs of the people of Haiti and to one meeting the needs of specific children. We are so blessed--I can't imagine the losses of the Haitian people.

Donating blog advertising money to the Red Cross. sweetdeals4moms.blogspot.com

To Anonymous: We are all people, we all bleed the same, whether it's in America or not. The homeless people in America are 100 times better off than the people of Haiti right now. There are shelters they can go to. You might want to ask yourself what Jesus would do.
