KSSlogotransparentI’ve promised myself that I would use this platform to be a little more transparent and let you guys know a little more about myself.

By now you know I have 2 kids, but what you don’t know is that I’d been overweight after having my son 5 years ago.  I just never took the time to try and get rid of the excess weight that I gained when I was pregnant…kept eating the same and all.  After a few medical issues, I decided enough was enough and at the end of 2012, I decided to change.  It hasn’t been easy. I began eating healthy and clean and began working out frequently.  This is why I paused with posting recipes because I wasn’t sure what to post! Fortunately I now have a small arsenal of clean and yummy recipes (a balance is always good right?!?) to share, which I’ve already begun to do!  I’ve also shared with you the Couponing Basics- You CAN Buy Healthy on a Budget…Here’s HOW post to hopefully show you that you can eat healthy and still maintain a budget!

kss-weight-lossIt’s been a loooong road, but I’m already down 30lbs (bulked up a little from weights so it could have been more, but I’ll take muscle over fat any day!)!!!

My struggle continues as I’m continuing my mission into 2014 to get fit! I’m a work in progress, but my hope is that by me documenting this journey, I can see how far I’ve come and also hold myself accountable even more now that I have put it out there!

I hope to be an inspiration to some and also hope that some of you will chime in and join me! I’d love to have open discussions about weight loss and becoming fit to learn more about you and vice versa!

POSITIVE COMMENTS are encouraged and welcome! I WANT TO HEAR YOUR STORY!! Support is key here at King-Size Savings. All negative comments will be deleted. <

unnamed-10Over the weekend I made a quick run to Whole Foods (gotta love that store!) I’ll start with MY SPLURGE– There were select Dellalo Pastas on sale 2/$6 while some were as low as $2.99… so I picked up some fun Rigatoni (will go GREAT with that $.67 Ragu Pasta Sauce from Dierbergs)…my son wouldn’t leave them alone, so I gave in and got them!
Delallo Pasta = 2/$6 (some as low as $2.99)
-Use $1.50/2 Dellalo Pasta
PLUS
*the whole wheat pasta actually qualifies for the $.75 Ibotta Credit to make it even cheaper!
Final Price = $$2.25

*With the price of the pasta and pasta sauce, that turns out to be (2) dinners for just $2.92  each!  And, well… you know me… here was Saturday night’s dinner…I made Baked Pasta and used some of that HOT and CHEAP cheese from Dierbergs too ;)  What a delicious dinner for under $3!!

by Cristi on January 19, 2014. This post may contain affiliate links.Affiliate Link

POSTED IN: My Shopping Trip, Uncategorized

kss-super-deals2YOU GUYS ROCK!!! We asked for you to send in your SUPER TRIPLE scores and you RESPONDED!!  You all kicked off 2014 right and SCORED BIG with the SUPER TRIPLES!!!  The deals were awesome and the pictures show it!!!

~Here are the links to our readers who sent in pics~

kss-super-master-sheetJust to make SUPER Doubles/Triples a little easier, I’m including an example of how I keep myself organized…I cooked this baby up quickly so if you see something I need to add that would be helpful, let me know! Also, if you’d like a printable version, I can post that too!  Anyhoo— I make my lists in Excel to keep myself on track with my coupon totals, deals and gives me an idea of what my final totals should be per transaction!

The SUPER Savings with King-Size Savings Sheet shows (1) potential transaction and lists all of the information needed for each deal.  I include how many I’m going to buy, the out-of-pocket costs per item(s), how many coupons are to be used and most importantly, what my end total should be!  The printable grocery list on our site is good, but for super triples or even doubles… deals can get a bit tricky (as you already know).  HOPE THIS HELPS!

**UPDATE**- Click HERE for the printable version of the worksheet!

Hopefully you got the chance to freshen up on your Coupon Basics by checking out our Couponing 101 Series, as well as our Stockpiling Tips post for some helpful tips to keep you organized and successful during the week… AND we were able to take advantage of some HUGE and HEALTHY deals which made for a great addition to our Couponing 101 Series: Couponing Basics- You CAN Buy Healthy on a Budget…Here’s HOW!
