Girl Scouts APRIL SHOWERS Event: Clean Out Your Stockpile and Donate
1.1.12
Donate Your Expired Coupons!!
We have a ton of coupons that expired on 12/31/11! Want to know what you can do with your expired coupons???
HERE’S WHAT I DO WITH MINE!!!
You can send your expired coupons to U.S. military bases around the world?
The coupons are placed in various common areas throughout each base and families can use them for up to 6 months after expiration date!
I try to clean out my binder on the 1st of every month and there are lots of coupons that expired yesterday! (Include your older children and make it a family learning time, it can help them with math as well as teach them about giving to others)
I put my coupons into two separate envelopes marked “FOOD” and “NON FOOD ITEMS” and then put both of those envelopes into a larger envelope, and they are ready to go.
The envelope ships to an APO/AFO address so the cost to mail the coupons is the same as sending a large envelope to my mom or sister in Oregon.
If you are interested in this program, you can adopt a military base, visit the Overseas Coupon Program website. This program has facilitated the transfer of coupons to U.S. military bases for more than 17 years.
