COUPON ORGANIZATION!

As you may know, I use a CouponClutch for my coupon organization. I have three words for you! I LOVE IT!
I am personally a big fan of the binder method, because I like to flip through and see the pictures of the products. It is just faster for me to get in and out of the store. I am a fan of the Coupon Clutch because I can carry it around like a purse and my coupons don’t fall out! I dropped my Coupon Clutch and every thing stayed in tact. If I was using a photo box for instance, I would have a heck of a mess to clean up! Just my personal preferance.

So I had a readers poll listed on the right side bar for about a week to find out how YOU organize your coupons!
Results:
36% Binder Method
11% Couponizer
21% Accordian File System
11% Envelopes
4% Photo Box
9% File Away and Clip when needed
4% Other
Each person has their own way of organizing! You are the one using the coupons so you need a system that works best for you!

In the feedback post I ran about two weeks ago, many of you wanted to know how I organize my coupons.
.
My book is divided into sections with sub sections using divider tabs.
1st Section
FREE ITEMS (ie BxGx FREE)
Target Store Coupons
I have these towards the front of my book and when I get a coupon that I can pair with these coupons I simply slide it behind the other coupon, that way they are all together.
.
For instance, Get a FREE Refill wyb Scubbing Bubbles Extend a Clean! I had that in the front of my book, then I slid the $5/1 Coupons and the Target GC Coupon behind it so I have them all together and I don’t have to be flippin’ around when I am at the store.
.
2nd Section
FOOD ITEMS
Dairy
Baking
Beverages
Cookies, Crackers, Chips & Nuts
Other Snacks – Gum, Candy, Fruit Roll Ups, etc
Frozen Foods
Quick Meals – Boxed Meals
Meats – Lunchmeat, Bacon, etc
Condiments – Ketchup, Peanut Butter, etc
Canned Foods
Cereal & Breakfast Foods
Rice & Pasta
.
3rd Section
PERSONAL CARE
Oral Hygiene
Make Up
Body Wash & Soap
Medical – Allergy meds, Band-Aids, Advil, that kind of stuff
Other – Deodorant, Lotion, etc
.
4th Section
HOUSEHOLD
Paper Products – includes trash bags, ziplocs, etc
Household Cleaners
Candles & Air Fresheners
Laundry
Dish
Other
.
5th Section
MISC
Pet Products
Baby Products (now if you have a baby, you would probably move this toward the front)
.
I do put like coupons in the same slot. So if I had a $.40/1 and a $.50/1 for the same product, I put them in the same slot, I just pull them out and find the best one to use at that point. If I didn’t do that, I would probably have to carry around two or three organizers.
.
So that is how I organize, but the important thing is that you find a system that works for you.

I have just started clipping & saving & its great! I LOVE your emails & website!
I have a question, about your coupon organizer pages, which size slots do you use? and do you put only 1 product coupon in 1 slot?
Example: 3 coupons for Pledge, which are various amounts of savings; do those 3 go in one ‘pledge’ spot? or all dusting coupons?

I am just thinking it would be great to have one slot per product & keep all coupons for that product in one slot, but if I did it that way, would I need like 100 pages?!? lol

Thanks again for an awesome site! a friend/neighbor told me about it (shout out to Rossie & Glenn) and they have this down to a science! I am greatful for them sharing this site with us!

I use one slot per product! For instance, you say pledge, I would keep all the pledge in one slot. If I find a good deal on it, i can just go through the coupons in that slot versus having to go through multiple brands to find what I am looking for! Trust me, you won’t need hundreds of pages!! For me, saving money and saving time go hand in hand! I rather just find the coupon in the slot and go, rather than flipping through or seaching through a bunch of different coupons to find the one I ma looking for!

My time can be very limited so that’s the system that works best for me!!

Thank you for the fast reply, I do not honestly know how you do all you do!!

What size slots/pages do you use? I didn’t want to order the wrong ones & lose before I can truly start! lol

I will say though, my first trip out & my hubby is hooked. I looked through your site & printed some coupons & we went grocery shopping & he didn’t believe we would save much, but first time out saved $9.05 at Schnucks & then $3.50 at DQ! It felt great and now he’s all for it.

I have some different size slots, but most of my pages are 9 slot pages, I do have a couple of 3 slot pages, but those I use for particular stores. I have them marked Target, Walgreens etc, and when I plan my trip I put my list and matching coupons in those large slots
