POSTED IN: Pay it Forward

Here I am again…asking you to join me in helping those affected by the devastating tornado in Joplin, Missouri over the weekend!

I know that since many of my readers are local to Missouri, you have either been affected by this tragedy or know someone who has!

I have been receiving emails all morning from many of you and am trying to go through all the info (verify it) so as to put a list together of where and how to donate!

If you need to clear out some of that stockpile and help those affected… They are in severe need of Non-perishable food, flashlights and batteries, blankets, camping cookware, infant supplies including formula and diapers, new clothing including jackets and rain ponchos, and especially underwear and socks, tennis shoes, sunscreen, soap, deodorant, and other hygienic products,  etc.

If you are local to the O Fallon, Missouri area…Once again, Starbucks at Highway K & Laura Hill will accept donations of items! These items will be delivered to Joplin on Friday!

OR

Windsor Crossing Church has locations in Fenton and Chesterfield. They will be taking donations of bottled water and packaged snack items (granola bars, pretzels, etc.). They are leaving tomorrow (Tuesday) morning at 10am. They are asking for donations to be brought to either location tonight or to the Chesterfield location by 10am tomorrow.

OR

You can visit the Friends of Joplin Facebook Page…they are working on getting lists together for items needed and drop points!

That’s a great idea to use paypal for donations. Found out today that a first cousin who lives in Joplin survived and apparently had no damage.

Hello! I live in Illinois and am looking for a way to help the victims/survivors of the tornados in Joplin. I am also a member of an AMAZING Scentsy team. We were wanting to donate Scentsy Buddies, as well as other gift cards, non-perishables and other items as needed. Do you know of an organization that I can contact to arrange the donations and to ensure that they are given to those who need them? I would appreciate any help/advice you can provide me with. Hello! I live here in the Joplin area. If anyone is bringing anything to Joplin to donate and needs my help in anyway, please just email me. I do know that we are in need of toiletry items such as body washes, shampoo, toothpaste/toothbrushes, toilet paper and also laundry soap. The food items are not being used as much right now as you can imagine they do not have anyway to prepare them. Bottled water is also a great need as many still do not have running water and are on boil order.

Thank you so much and God Bless!

I have been looking for a place to send baby clothing that I have collected for a charity without much success. I’m in a small town in Ohio. I don’t want these brand new clothes to be thrown in a pile but given to the people who need them. If there is still a need for them, I would gladly mail them if I knew where to mail them. It is so frustrating to have the desire to help, the items that are needed, and no information to get them there. Then I found your site and I’m sitting here hoping that this is my answer. Can I send them to the address you provided in earlier posts? I have always been able to have a contact person in other disasters but seem to have problems finding someone in this disaster.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi…we live in CT and my 4 children have collected all of their toys that they would like to donate. We once lost everything in a hurricane when we lived in the Caribbean and they remember all of the donations we received from complete strangers…they loved receiving toys and didn’t care if they were new or not…they were even able to replace some of their favourite games and stuffed animals this way so it was even more special.

Any ideas how we can make this happen from CT?

Thanks

The vast majority of Joplin relief places are FULL of clothing. Please STOP donating clothing. Cash is the best resource right now. People need money to start rebuilding their homes.
