As most of you have either experienced or heard, the St Louis area was hit by devastating tornados last Friday! There are many local residents that need our help!!
Since we couponers, tend to be very frugal, yet very generous, I thought I would put this out there for any of you that would like to make donations!
Here’s a list of items that are needed:
Sheets
Cleaning Supplies
Diapers
Underwear (both men’s and womens)
Socks
Personal Care Items
Where can you take your items???

St Charles County Area…
I will be placing totes at Starbucks (O Fallon – Hwy K & Laura Hill location) later this afternoon (totes are there now) for collection of items and I will personally drop them off on Thrusday (4/28) at the Maryland Heights Community Center!
If you know of other locations accepting donations for the tornado victims, please let me know and I will add them to the list!
Any help I’m sure is greatly appreciated by those affected by the devastating tornados!!
Also, at the Starbucks (Hwy K & Laura Hill – O Fallon location) we are collecting bar soap for a missions trip to Honduras! So if you have a few bars lying around in your stockpile, feel free to drop them by Starbucks (through May 20th)

Thank you, thank you, thank you! My grandma’s house was one of the homes demolished
in Bridgeton. She wasn’t home at the time, for which we are grateful. We have
LOTS of family in town, so we are picking up the pieces together (literally). I can’t tell you how much it means to see this post today. Thank you for thinking of others
glad to hear your grandma is ok. sending thoughts and prayers to your family.
Thank you so much, Carie! I’ll bring some stuff for your tote box Wednesday when I’m in O’Fallon.
My brother in laws house was also destroyed. He was lucky, and was able to salvage and recover many of his possessions, but I keep thinking about those who cannot or don’t have the resources to move forward. Thanks for posting this.
sending thoughts and prayers to your family.
I will see what I can do. We have a family on the Moms Like Me board that has lost her roof and is in need of supplies and children/baby (she is pregnant) items. As well as maternity.
do you know what sizes of maternity clothes?
Medium. The lady is 19 weeks along. Here is a link to the thread with more info.

They also need dog supplies.
Thanks for posting, I’ve been getting some items together. Do you know if there are specific times for drop offs?
Anyone know of any areas in North County? We’re not too far from the airport and while our area is completely fine, we are only a couple of miles from some places with serious damage.
Ferguson is sending people to the MH Community Center – I’m guessing Berkley is too. It could take a week or two to figure out what people will need once they land on their feet.
As of last night, the Maryland Heights Center was not taking any more donations when I called. They said that you may want to check in on Wednesday to see where they stand. The Zion Lutheran Church is still collecting. Thank you to all of you for supporting Maryland Heights and Bridgeton. What a wonderful commmunity!
I spoke with the Maryland Heights Community center before I posted and she said that they had more people there last night than they have had since the storms hit! She is the one that gave me the list of what they need, so I guess they are accepting donations again.
So glad to see couponers doing this for other people! What a great way to use the deals that you’ve gotten to help other people!
Great idea, Carie! =)
Don’t forget the animals! Pet food, bedding, supplies.
Katie,
Airport Elementary is collecting. They are asking for the items to be dropped off by noon on Friday, and the Ferguson-Florissant Caring Community Event will be from 9am-Noon on Saturday. I have a list of items they are looking for and will be happy to email it if you or anyone else is interested.
At least it’s another drop off location if needed.
Is the list too long to post here? Ferguson/Florissant would be a closer drop for me as well. Also wondering if all items need to be new or if used are acceptable as well.
Thanks!
Staci,
Here’s the list that I received today:
*New/gently used clothing, shoes, blankets, bedding and towels. (Please make sure any gently used items are clean and/or laundered.)

**Suitcases and Rubbermaid storage containers
**Non-perishable food items

“Or if you would like to make a monetary donation, please make checks payable ot the Ferguson-Florissant School District and forward them to ***** (I have her name and will email it upon request) 1005 Waterford Drive, Florissant, MO 63033.
“We appreciae your donations with families who attend the Ferguson-Florissant Caring Community Event that is planned from 9am to noon on Saturday, April 30 at Airport Elementary School.”
