Good for you, girl! High five!!!!! Good lots of good choices too! (which is a whole different challenge!)
Momma G
I thought Shop n Save wasn’t letting you use the $5/50 entertainment coupons on $10 off. am I wrong, YAY, if I am.
You can use them on $10/$50 thursday, you just can’t use them to buy gift cards anymore…that’s the only change from last year
How many entertainment books do you have? And how many $5 off coupons are in each book? I’m just curious because those books are expensive.
Right now I have 2, I may order more through the year when the prices go down.
There are (6) $5/$50 Shop N Save Coupons
If you buy them online and use one of the cash back sites (Ebates or Shop at Home) when there is a sale, you can get them at really good prices!
I wanted to go so bad today, but our roads are very bad
they are extending it through tomorrow since the weather is so bad!!
I love how your gallon of milk is already a little taken from
Good Job!
WOW, Carie! That is GREAT!
You did awesome Carie and apparently went shopping just in time before all the streets became crazy from the snow. Good job! I love you sharing your shopping trips to give everyone ideas of how they can save. Thanks!
I was there at midnight…no snow, yet and was in bed by 1 am and up and at up at 6 am…Sleep is over rated
I was looking for you and must have missed you. My son and I were in there around 11:30 checking out at midnight. Love that nobody was in the store.
ohhhh I was there and checking out. The Dardenne Prairie night cashier is AWESOME!!
I wish I was this good
That’s awesome. That’s what I want to learn how to do. I need to get better on the grocey side. I have a $100 budget a week for 6 people. I need to learn how to strech this more. Any advise I would love.
Just collect your coupons, hold on to them for sales and planning out your trip is key.
I don’t buy anything that is NOT on my list…impulse buys even when you have a coupon can kill your budget
Schnucks has the Musselmans applesauce on sale for $1.50 too. There was a stack of $1 off 2 coupons. So that made the deal even better
Thanks for sharing this, you have given me a reason to leave the house today. I pulled out my coupons and can’t wait to hit it. You got some great stuff and it is stuff that we will eat! Thanks!
So when using the $5/50 coupon from the entertainment book, would your total before coupons have to be $55, because the $10/$50 comes off automatically? How does that work exactly?
You can use it right at $50 purchase.
Let’s say your total gets to $50, then the $10 comes off (for $10/$50 promotion) and now your total is right at $40, you can still use the $5 coupon from the entertainment book because your original purchase was $50, then your other coupons come off of that.
If you had NO other coupons, and bought $50 worth of groceries, you would still get down to $35 with just the $10 promo and the $5 coupon from the book
Ok thanks! I don’t think my book has the Shop N Save coupons in it though
I can’t find my book at the moment, but looked online and not seeing them. Bummer. Oh well, still going to try to make it today. I seen where they are extending the $10/$50 Thursday through Friday!
If it’s a St louis book it should have the coupons…the website doesn’t list them, but they are on like the 4th page from the front
Gotcha. Its a St Louis book, I just can’t find my book right now. Oh well. Save them for next time I guess
Thanks for your help!
I went this morning and tried using the $3/3 Nabisco coupon from 1/8 SS on the Teddy Graham Go Paks and it did not work for me. Was told by cashier and customer service that it had to be the boxes of the product since that’s what the coupon had pictured. Went ahead and bought them anyway since it’s still an ok deal, but be cautious, not sure why that one wouldn’t go through.
I had this same problem at Target yesterday. I am going to try tonight at Shop N Save if they aren’t sold out of everything I am going for
I was able to use the coupon on the Go Paks, but the store didn’t have Teddy Grahams. I got the others and asked the cashier to check to see if the coupon would work. It kind of worked. It deducted $2.50 instead of $3.
my coupons rang up $2.50 also, but then the cashier somehow deducted the .50 difference for each coupon (totaling $3) at the end.
I had that same issue at the store in Monticello Plaza. I told her that the coupon says any participating product, not just what’s pictured. She then got an override from a manager.
I went this afternoon. Made two trips to the car to get the $10 deal twice and saved 64% on both trips. Thank you, Carie for all your coupon match-ups!!!
I loved the comment that any time you can save 60 – 70% you consider it a good trip. I am an avid couponer and have been feeling hard on myself when that is what I average saving. Thanks for lifting me up!
I try not to be too hard on myself…I may only save 50% next week, but then I may save 80% the following week…I try to average 60-70 anything above that, makes me giddy
I was actually wondering if I was able to use the $5 coupon from the Entertainment Book on $10 off Thursdays. Thanks for answering it inadvertently!
I just got back. Very disappointed
The Mexico Loop store was sold out of the Musselman’s, Prego and the 50 ct. Bounty. Couldn’t find the cherries either
I did some on the fly calculations and the 200 ct. Bounty is slightly cheaper than the 50ct.
If you plan to shop tomorrow, you may want to call ahead to see if they have what you want, or it may not be worth it to you.
I made my hubby go so we could do it twice. They were out of some of the stuff I wanted to get, like the Prego Smart Sauces, Teddy Grahams Go Paks, etc. Still got a lot of stuff and saved 66% on 1 transaction, 59% on the other. Would have been better if I could of found my entertainment book for the extra $5 off.
Awesome job! I am inspired to do better! I made it to the store but they were out of so much (shopped at 5:30 pm). They didn’t have the Prego. Also, did anybody else have troubles using the coupons? They were very nice but said they had to double check everything by hand if the coupon didn’t scan because of the double coupon lines.
I dont think Shop N Save has switched over there registers to the new bar coding system that is being used on coupons that started rolling out last January…I think that’s why there is a problem with them scanning
How did you get the Sara Lee meat coupons? I’d like to get my hands on some of them!
I occasionally send emails to companies for products that I like and request coupons
Is there a policy with shop n save that your coupon can only be half the amount? such as the product has to be a minimum 2.00 to use a 1.00 coupon? Also I accidentally cut a big part of exp date off a coupon that I had 4 more identical and they wouldnt take it! said the manufact wouldnt reimburse them!
If it is a printable coupon, their policy is that it can not exceed 50% of the retail price of the item
